LENOX GAME POSTPONED

Tonight's game against Lenox has been postponed until Friday 12/20/2013.  The game will still be played at McCann, with Junior Varsity at 5:30.

Our home opener will be Thursday Night at 5:30 against Mt. Greylock.  Hopefully we will have a strong showing from our fan support.  Please come out and cheer for our team!  Make McCann the best home court advantage in the county!

I also ask in doing so, our fans are respectful to opposing players and coaches, as well as the officials.

No practice Tuesday, Varsity practice as scheduled for Wednesday at 3

VARSITY SCHEDULE for 12/15 to 12/21

First, I want to wish Connor Little a quick recovery after being in an auto accident.  His injuries were relatively minor compared to the damage of the car.  We are thankful he was not hurt more seriously.  Hopefully he will return to us shortly.

After a very successful preseason, it's time to gear up for the regular season.  Our players have been working very hard.  We start off with two of our tougher games of the season.  Here's our schedule for the upcoming week:

12/15 Sunday - Gym open from 3 to 5.  Every player has to make it in for at least one hour of shooting and individual skills practice.  This is a day to work on your game.

12/16 Monday - 3:00 to 4:30

12/17 Tuesday - home game - Lenox - white uniforms - be at McCann before 5:45 - dress nice - sit together as a team during JV game.

12/18 Wednesday - 3:00 to 4:30

12/19 Thursday - home game - Mt. Greylock - white uniforms - be at McCann before 5:45 - dress nice - sit together as a team during JV game.

12/20 Friday - OFF

12/21 Saturday - OFF

We are experimenting with more days off this year.  Generally we are going to try to take one day off during the week and Saturdays.  The day off during the week will usually be the day after a game.  We will do this as long as everybody comes to every practice and our practices are productive.  I think the extra day off will keep our players fresher both physically and mentally.  It also allows us to schedule appointments without missing practices, catch up on school work, and work for those who have jobs.  If at all possible use this as a guide to schedule these activities.  Thank you for your support, Coach

UPDATE FOR VARSITY PRACTICE SCHEDULE

First I am truly sorry for our ever changing practice schedule.  I am really at the mercy of other facilities right now.  MCLA has offered us the use of Venerable gym tonight at 7:00PM.  We will practice 7 to 9.  I want to meet at Mccann at 6 to finish issuing uniforms and travel to MCLA together. 

Our Jamboree is tomorrow.  I have not received the official time the bus is leaving.  We are travelling with the girls team and they play before us.  I am guessing it will be about 5:30.  I will let the player know when I get the word.

Our schedule will then revert back to the original:  Wed-off and Thursday 7-9.

VARSITY PRACTICE SCHEDULE CHANGE

I have just learned our gym is unavailable on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  We are working on trying to find gym time.  We will have NO PRACTICE on Sunday.  I am hoping MCLA or the armory can help us out for Monday and Wednesday.

VARSITY PRACTICE SCHEDULE for 12/6 to 12/15

Thank you to everybody to coming to the meeting on Thursday.  The meeting will save me hours of tracking these forms down and we won't have to worry about anybody missing games.  Here is the Varsity schedule for the next week.  I will check with Coach Carmona soon and post his schedule for the junior varsity.

12/6 Friday - OFF

12/7 Saturday - Scrimmage with Drury and St. Joe.  Be at the gym at 9:00.  Wear practice uniforms.  If you don't have one, I will give you one that morning.  Games start at 10:00.  Spectators are welcomed.  Pizza after game for all players.  If somebody would like to volunteer to pick up pizzas at about 11:45 it would be greatly appreciated!

12/8 Sunday - 5:30 to 7:30

12/9 Monday - 3:00 to 5:00

12/10 Tuesday - Jamboree at Mt. Greylock.  We play Mt. Greylock at 7:30.  We are sharing a bus with the girls team.  I have not received the time the bus is leaving at this time.  One rule I forgot to mention is everybody takes the bus home unless a parent tells me at the site of the game.  I prefer to travel to and from games as a team, but I also understand that circumstances will arise.

12/11 Wednesday - OFF

12/12 Thursday - 7:00 to 9:00

12/13 Friday - OFF

12/14 Saturday - 9:00 to 11:00

12/15 Sunday - 5:30 to 7:30

Remember be on the court and ready to practice at least 10 minutes before the start time.  This is the time to work on your individual skills!

PLAYERS/PARENTS MEETING

There will be a meeting on Thursday December 5th at 6PM in the cafeteria for all players that are chosen for both varsity and junior varsity.  This is an important meeting and I ask that at least one parent is in attendance for each player.  We will get all forms signed for the year that night.  There are several forms that need to be completed before our players are eligible to play.  Last year this turned into a nightmare because I have found most forms were not making it home.  Hopefully this will solve that problem.  We will also discuss our early season schedule and expectations of our players, coaches, and team.  All questions will be welcomed at this meeting.

In addition, the Booster Club will speak to parents to start to orgazize fund raising efforts for the season.  The Booster Club raises money for our travel gear that is bought for the players and the end of season banquet.
